M.K.Ciurlionis and K.Simonis meets P.Gaugin and F.Goya

Seventeen M.K.Ciurlionis and two K.Simonis paintings are being exhibited at the international exhibition "Europe and the world of spirits, or fascination with the occult from the year of 1750 to 1950" (L'Europe des Esprit ou la Fascination pour l'occult, 1750 – 1950) in Strasbourg, France. Lithuanian artists' works are exhibited alongside a plethora of world-renowned European artists such as William Blake, Eugene Delacroix, Paul Gauge, Francisco Goya, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Kazimir Malevitch, Edouard Munch, etc.

Lucid Dream by Zilvinas Kempinas

Zilvinas Kempinas experiments with the possibilities of movement in works of art. In his installations, he uses industrial fans to ventilate the air floating one or several loops of magnetic tape that undulates, drawing random forms in space. Lithuania in Venice Biennale 2011

The 54th International Art Exhibition, titled ILLUMInations, had shared some Lithuanian artists. The Exhibition, spreading over 10,000 square metres between the Central Pavilion in the Giardini and the Arsenale, comprises a single display featuring 83 artists from all over the world. The Exhibition it’s paralleled by 89 national participations, a record for the Art Biennale, which are housed in the Giardini, at the Arsenale and around the city centre.

For the First Time: Burning Man Vilnius

Book “Noah’s Ark”

Book Noahs Ark"Bokartas" has published book for children "Noah’s Ark". This is a wonderful book for children with excellent illustrations, painted on wooden boards, by the artist Evaldas Mikalauskis. The text of the Bible is adapted for children by Aldona Vasiliuniene. This exclusive book is bounded with canvas. "Noah’s Ark" is the first book of a series of Bible stories for children. This is a non-profit project, which will include the best book artists.

This project should help children to love God.

Welcome Home, Arbit Blatas!

Born in Kaunas, Lithuania, Arbit Blatas was a precocious talent who began exhibiting in his native country at the age of 15. He left for Paris and, at the age of 21, became the youngest member of the School of Paris. When Blatas was 24, the Jeu de Paume in Paris first acquired some of his paintings; he had already become a colleague and friend of many of the great figures of the Paris art world, such as Vlaminck, Soutine, Picasso, Utrillo, Braque, Zadkine, Léger and Dérain.
